The castle Starhemberg which has been in the possession of the princely family Starhemberg for centuries lies in Eferding, Austria's  third oldest town. In these historical buildings you can find a beautiful combination of architecture and styles from different times. The castle dates back to the 13th century. The library, the princely Starhembergische family museum and the town museum are located in these oldest parts today. From the south wing of the castle one has  a splendid view of the castle grounds. The castle houses a cultural center today.
