|  The castle Schönbrunn is one of Austria's most significant cultural assets and has been one of Vienna's most important sights since the 1960s. Soon after the end of the monarchy the parks were discovered as local recreation areas. Thereupon the castle was also opened for the international audience. Now the whole complex attracts approximately 6.7 million visitors anually.
