Ship MS My Story

The MS Story was built in 1971 and with a length of 105 metres and a width of approximately 12 metres it is one of the larger river cruise vessels. Spread over two decks, there are 87 outside cabins, a sun deck with deckchairs and seating groups, a panorama restaurant, a lounge with a bar, as well as a small wellness area with a sauna. The cabins offer accommodation to a maximum of 174 passengers, they are all approximately 9 m² large and equipped with shower/WC and  centrally controlled air-conditioning/heating. On the upper deck the windows can be opened.

Day 1

Individual arrival in Passau + ship journey to Engelhartszell

Your ship will be awaiting you in the harbour and the crew will be welcoming you with a cocktail from 5 p.m. After the passengers have moved into their cabins, dinner will be served on board. At approximately 6.30 p.m. your ship will embark on the short journey to Engelhartszell. Booked rental bikes will be available on board

Day 2

Engelhartszell - Aschach, approx. 40 km + approx. 220 km ship journey to Vienna

In Engelhartszell you will start your first cycle tour to Aschach. The route will take you through the romantic river landscape of the Danube River Bend (Donauschlinge), one of the most impressive sections of the Danube on this journey. You will cycle at the foot of wooded hillsides, through little villages and always directly along the river. Allow enough time for visiting Aschach! The church especially is worth a visit, before you board the ship once again. During the night the ship will sail to Vienna.

Day 3

Vienna - Bratislava, approx. 55/75 km + approx. 230 km ship journey to Budapest

Today you will experience unspoiled nature. Extensive meadow landscapes, primeval seeming forests, small pools, lianas and countless animal species await you on your journey to Bratislava. Athletes can cycle the entire stretch, however, it can be shortened by a train journey. In Bratislava you will have the opportunity to discover the lovingly restored city centre. During the night the ship will sail to Budapest.

Day 4

Day of Rest in Budapest

The day begins with the impressive entrance of Budapest harbour. Early risers can already take a look at the most important sights of Hungary´s capital here. During the day you are free to explore Budapest. The parliament building, state opera, castle district- the abundance of culture and art is overwhelming. Those who wish can let the day end on a bus city tour through the festively illuminated Budapest.

Day 5

Budapest – Danube River Bend - Esztergom, approx. 25/60 km + approx. 220 km ship journey to Vienna.

The Danube River Bend is one the most beautiful regions you will see on this journey. It is also known as the Hungarian Wachau. Today´s cycle tour through the soft hilly landscape begins in the picturesque town Visegrad. You can choose between two routes- the longer option includes a detour to the Szentendre Island and the Baroque town Vác. The Basilica of Esztergom, Hungary´s largest church, is located at the end of the Danube Bend. In the night the ship will sail to Vienna.

Day 6

Day of Rest in Vienna, approx. 80 km ship journey to Krems

At approximately 12 p.m. you will arrive in Vienna. Here you will have the opportunity to participate in a city tour, either by bike or by ship (duration approx. 3 hours, not included). The ship will remain on the sport during the rest of the day. You are free to explore the beautiful city of Vienna. How about visiting the Hofburg Palace or taking a break at the honourable Court Confectionary Demel?
In the night the ship will sail to Krems.

Day 7

Krems - Melk, approx. 35 km + approx. 200 km ship journey to Passau

Today the unique landscape of the Wachau awaits you. Along the old wine route you will cycle past countless historical buildings and castles: Castle Schönbühel, the castle ruins of Aggstein and Dürnstein ….
In the evening we invite you to a gala dinner. Enjoy your last evening aboard the ship, which will be framed by a folklore show. Over night the ship will take you back to Passau.

Day 8
Passau

Wachau - Passau, journey home or extension of stay

This morning you will be able to enjoy the morning peacefulness of the Danube Valley and cast a last look at the Schlögen river bend, before reaching Passau at about 11.30 am, where you will leave the boat.
