The “House of Hungarian Wines”, Budapest

The “House of Hungarian Wines”, Budapest

The “House of Hungarian Wines” was jointly founded in 1996 by representatives of the Hungarian viniculture and the following foundations and organisations: The Hungarian Wine Academy, the foundation for Hungarian Vine- and Wine cultur, the foundation for the “House of Hungarian Wines” and the Hungarian foundation for culture.
The house was opened in the historical Buda quarter on September, 2nd 1997. Since then the position of the foundations was taken over by private capital, securing continual developments and investments. The House welcomes its visitors with constantly expanded services and offers. The house´s  time-honoured cellar is home to many stands where all the wine-growing districts in Hungary present themselves to the visitors. Wine-lovers will be pleased by the great variety (almost 700) of Hungarian wines and sparkling wines.
This unique retrospective concerning Hungarian viniculture not only offers a wide range of interesting things, but also presents the viniculture regions and their specialities and characteristics on information panels in Hungarian, English, German and French.
We invite our guests to participate in a “Wine-Tour” during which they can look at the exhibition and get acquainted with all the different Hungarian wines. Within this tour, approximately 50 different sorts from the grand total of almost 700 are offered, the guests can freely choose which ever wine they want to try. The wine sorts offered during the tasting vary from month to month.
