Egon-Schiele museum Tulln
![]() On the occasion of the 100th return of Egon Schiele's birthday on the 12th Juli 1990 the city of Tulln opened the Egon-Schiele museum und thereby commemorated the city's famous son. Egon Schiele's stay in the prison cell Neulengbach and the creation of ten distressing drawings were the origin of the idea to buy the former county prison and to transform it into a Schiele museum. On the ground floor there is a documentation of Schiele's life and his time. On the first floor there is a display of 100 of Schiele's original works- drawings, opaque colour paintings and oil paintings. A highlight is the "View of snowy vineyards at abbey Neuburg'' ( "Blick über verschneite Weingärten auf Klosterneuburg") which he painted 1907.
