Donaueschingen Castle

Donaueschingen Castle

The Fürstenberg lineage most probably dates back to the counts residing under Charlemagne and therefore is one of the oldest families in Germany. In 1723 Donaueschingen became royal seat of the principality, in 1805 the state was divided between Baden, Wurttemberg and Hohenzollern. The castle developed as a new building in the baroque style and was redesigned in the style of   belle epoque in 1893-96. Its grand entrance and representative rooms can be visited. In the park you can find the famous source of the Danube.
The castle Donaueschingen is open for registered groups all year. Minimum number of participants: 10 people
